Evolving with Tina
Evolving with Tina is a podcast for women who are tired of constantly questioning themselves and are ready to start trusting what they see, feel and experience.
If you replay conversations, wonder whether you’re overreacting, feel responsible for other people’s emotions, or spend far too much time trying to make sense of behaviour that leaves you confused, you’re in the right place.
Hosted by author and speaker Tina Tyler, Evolving with Tina is a space where women can feel seen, heard and understood while making sense of the experiences that have left them questioning themselves.
Through her Let’s Make Sense of It series, Tina takes the confusing moments that happen in relationships, families and everyday life and slows them down.
Why did they react like that? Why do I feel guilty for saying no? Why do I keep explaining myself and still feel misunderstood? Why am I changing my behaviour just to keep the peace?
Together, we explore what might be happening underneath the behaviour, how it’s affecting you, and what you might not be seeing yet, without diagnosing people or telling you what you should do.
Because sometimes we become so focused on understanding someone else’s behaviour that we don’t notice what it’s doing to us.
Tina isn’t here to preach or pretend she has it all figured out. She’s here to walk beside you as you make sense of your experiences, understand yourself more deeply, and build the self-trust to move forward in a way that feels right for you.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
Come as you are. Evolve as you go.

Episode 33: Why Do I Make Myself Uncomfortable to Keep Everyone Else Comfortable?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Have you ever said yes when you really wanted to say no, stayed quiet to avoid an argument, or taken care of something yourself because dealing with someone else’s disappointment felt harder?
In this episode of Let’s Make Sense of It, I’m answering a question submitted by one of our fellow Evolvers. We’re calling her Trish, and she wants to understand why she keeps putting herself out just to keep everyone else happy.
And it raises a much bigger question:
When did someone else’s discomfort become something you believe you’re responsible for preventing, even at your own expense?
Sometimes you do a little mental math without even realizing it. You know how to deal with your own discomfort. You can swallow it, push through it, tell yourself it’s fine. Somehow, that can feel easier than dealing with someone else being disappointed, frustrated or upset with you.
So you take the discomfort.
Again and again.
In this episode, I explore where that pattern might come from, why keeping the peace can actually reinforce it, and what it can cost you over time.
I also share a personal experience from becoming a co-author of She Is Worthy, when I realized I was editing my own story because I was worried about how other people might feel hearing my truth. And I share an illustration a therapist once gave me that completely changed how I looked at carrying other people’s stress, problems and discomfort.
If you’ve ever struggled with people pleasing, saying no, setting boundaries, worrying about someone’s reaction, or putting everyone else’s comfort ahead of your own, this conversation is for you.
A question to sit with:
Why am I working so hard to protect someone else from a feeling I’m expecting myself to tolerate?
